Mussoorie Hill Station Dehradun

Located in Uttarakhand, the queen of mountains namely Mussoorie near Dehradun is a famous hill station all over the world for its green hill and diverse flora and fauna. This beautiful hill station, which falls in the district of Nainital, fascinates the tourists so much that they visit here again and again to collect the unforgettable memories. Fantabulous town of Mussoorie is at an altitude of 7000 feet from main sea level. There is hardly any day, which goes without rain in this part of the world. Tourists can enjoy the wonderful view of the Shivalik mountain ranges and Doon valleys here. Mussorie is also the entrance for Yamunotri and Gangotri dhams. It is the most popular tourist destination for the residents of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Mussoorie is mainly popular for ancient temples, hills, waterfalls, valleys, wildlife sanctuaries and educational institutions. Here the bush namely mansoor is found at very large level. Many believe that the name of the town Mussoorie has been originated from this particular bush. Mussoorie Hill Station Dehradun


This is the second highest peak of Mussoorie. Tourist can enjoy the exciting ropeway  journey of 400 meters to get here. This hill can also be accessed by a walking path. From this hill top one can enjoy the panoramic views of Bandarapanch, Shrikanta, Pithwada and Gangotri.


This new picnic spot has been developed on the Mussoorie-Dehradun route. Located at 6 kilometres away from Mussoorie, you can view charming scenery of nearby villages.


It is the centre of faith among HIndus living in the temple area. The idol made of stone has been installed here. Besides this, the famous Nag temple is also established here.


Situated 15 kms away from Mussoorie, this waterfall is the largest and most picturesque waterfall of this valley. It is located at an altitude of 4500 feet from main sea level. This waterfall flows across five different streams that are really exciting to watch. Besides Kempty fall, there is also Jharia Pani waterfall and Bhatta Waterfall in Mussoorie. The Jharia Pani waterfall is also quite popular among tourists.


Dedicated to Lord Krishna’s brother Bal Bhadra, this temple is situated 15 kms away from Mussoorie in Doodhi. This is an ideal location for trekking.


You can use air, rail and road route to get there. The nearest airport and railway station are 60 kms away from here in Dehradun. The Jolly Grant airport of Dehradun provides direct flights to Delhi and Mumbai. The Dehradun railway station is connected by rail route to several cities including Delhi, Kolkata, Jammu and Amritsar. The bus or taxi can be taken from Dehradun to  Mussoorie. Bus facility is also available from New Delhi and Nainital to Mussoorie.
